Thanks for stopping by!
I’m Julianne, a full-time artist living just outside of Boston. I first began studying Art and Art History at Skidmore College and later earned my Masters in Art Education from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Moss and Blue is the culmination of many years of studying, practicing, learning, and re-learning how to paint.
My early work was fairly representational but transitioned into abstraction when I began to experiment with the process. Over the years I’ve found that I enjoy the challenges presented by abstract painting far more than trying to copy the way something looks.
I typically release my work in series, meaning that I will have 6-10 paintings for sale at a time. Each painting within the series is related in some way, whether it be the color palette, a unifying mark, or stemming from the same idea. I try to release a new series every month or two, so if my Shop section is currently sold out please check back in a few weeks. I always announce upcoming sales and releases on my Instagram account; be sure to follow along there if you don’t already!
When I’m not painting, you can find me playing tug-of-war with my studio pup Sadie, or attempting to fix up my new (old) 1840’s farmhouse. If you’re interested in seeing my work in person, I paint out of my at-home studio that has a gallery space for local clients to visit. To set up a studio visit, please contact me using the form below. I would love to meet you!
